Fresh Tracks, a Vancouver‑based travel operator, has been crafting personalized Canadian vacations since 1996. Their business is built on connection: connecting travellers to Canada’s beauty and people to meaningful experiences. As the team grew, Fresh Tracks reached a pivotal moment: their lease was ending, and they needed a new workplace that could evolve with them.
Fresh Tracks selected Aura because of our ability to translate its brand, values, and love of Canada into a functional, inspiring environment. Our dedicated team also has the experience and expertise to manage the risks associated with heritage buildings. Aura Office’s integrated design‑build approach gave Fresh Tracks a seamless way to relocate, reimagine their workplace, and create a space that supports their staff and clients’ needs.
A Vision for a More Functional, People-Centred Workplace
Fresh Tracks approached the project with a clear set of goals for their new 11,000-square-foot workplace. A key priority was to increase functionality by adding meeting rooms, collaboration zones, and flexible areas that could accommodate town halls and larger gatherings. Improving everyday staff experience was also essential, including the addition of breakout spaces, a lunchroom, informal meeting areas, and dedicated in‑house washrooms.
Equally important was ensuring the space felt aligned with their brand. Fresh Tracks wanted an environment that reflected its culture, Canadian identity, and desire for a fun, energetic workplace that would inspire both employees and visitors.

The Design Strategy: Where the Love of People Meets the Love of Canada
Aura’s design concept for the space drew on the spirit of Canadian adventure and the connections it creates. The workplace was envisioned as a journey, one that celebrates camaraderie, creativity, and the joy of discovery.
A series of vibrant red thresholds act as “pins on a map,” guiding staff through the space and marking key transitions. A fresh, clean palette of bright whites and blue‑greys along the perimeter balances these energetic moments, grounding the space and supporting day‑to‑day focus.

Key Design Features
Entrance & Waiting Area
Fresh Tracks didn’t need a traditional reception desk, but they wanted a strong first impression. Our team created a welcoming waiting area featuring brand elements, company values, and customer reviews. This space sets the tone for visitors and provides a warm, professional arrival experience.
Entrance Kitchenette
Because of the floorplate’s nature and elongated layout, the team added a secondary kitchenette near the entrance so staff in that area don’t have to walk across the entire office for coffee or water.
Meeting Rooms
Each meeting room is themed after a Canadian province, reinforcing the company’s identity. These rooms address Fresh Tracks’ need for more enclosed meeting spaces while celebrating Canada's key destinations.
Workstations
Located in a heritage building with deep‑set windows, the space required thoughtful design to maximize light. Aura used light‑colored workstations, soft blue accents, warm wood tones, and biophilia to brighten the area and create a lively, inviting atmosphere.
Phone Booths for a Growing Sales Team
With a large sales team, noise control was essential. Strategically placed phone booths provide quiet zones for calls, reduce disruption, and support focused work.
Boardroom
A unique boardroom table and a graphic feature wall create a polished, professional environment. Glazed walls allow the boardroom to open into the kitchen, creating a large, flexible space ideal for town halls, events, and celebrations.
Breakout Area
To increase collaboration, Aura designed a breakout zone adjacent to the boardroom. This flexible space supports informal meetings, team huddles, and spontaneous collaboration.
Lunchroom
The lunchroom subtly incorporates Fresh Tracks’ signature red while balancing it with muted sky blues, greys, blacks, and natural wood. Multiple seating options support everything from casual lunches to team gatherings, making it a true social hub.
Mezzanine
Fun was a major priority, so Aura designed a mezzanine with a plaid carpet pattern—a nod to classic Canadian style. Acoustic solutions were integrated to manage sound in the tall space, and a writable surface encourages brainstorming. A tone‑on‑tone graphic wall showcases Fresh Tracks’ values, reinforcing culture in a playful but subtle way.
Staff Washroom Area
Fresh Tracks wanted dedicated staff washrooms, and Aura delivered a vibrant, personality‑filled zone featuring colourful tiles, alternating stall colours, plaid accents, and a bold red entry door. It’s functional, fun, and unmistakably on‑brand.

The Outcome
Fresh Tracks’ new office reflects its identity, supports its growth, and brings its love of Canada to life in a way that energizes the team every day. Thoughtfully designed to balance functionality, flexibility, and employee experience, the space provides a variety of environments for focused work, collaboration, and connection.
By partnering with Aura Office, Fresh Tracks gained a workplace that is not only highly functional, but also deeply aligned with their culture and values. Through Aura Office’s integrated design-build approach, the final result was a vibrant, people-centred environment designed to inspire creativity, strengthen relationships, and support the organization’s continued success.
